Social media assistant

Mighty Yoga is looking for a proficient and enthusiastic social media professional to help enhance the studio's online brand presence and expand our community through social media: managing everything from planning to execution and follow-up.  We want help sharing our Mighty message in an engaging way through captivating newsletters, motivating posts and eye-catching imagery that represents our mission to celebrate and integrate joy & yoga into your life.  Familiarity with email marketing software and current social media platforms a PLUS! Weekly commitment starts 2-3 hours/week

Essential Tasks:

  • Social Media – Craft compelling copy and content for bimonthly e-newsletters, studio blog, and posts; work with teachers and staff for appropriate photos and content. Stay on top of current events in Ithaca and around the world that affect our community.  Ensure messages represent Mighty Yoga’s vision.

  • Communications Calendar – Work primarily with Creative Director & Managers to coordinate timelines around classes and events.

Job Details:

  • Create and optimize social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and any other leading platforms that develop.

  • Conceptualize, design, and manage content for social media campaigns and generate attention and participation through compelling marketing initiatives

  • Develop engaging content for each social platform and manage the calendar for them.

  • Grow Mighty fan base and followers on social media platforms

  • Provide regular analysis on social media performance—what worked, what didn't, suggestions for short/long-term planning

Position Requirements:

  • Familiarity with yoga industry and Ithaca & Mighty community

  • Solid project/time management, communication, problem-solving and organization skills

  • Familiarity with email marketing (i.e. Constant Contact)

  • Excellent writing/editing & copyediting skills; Must be able to develop content with our Mighty voice.

  • Consumer marketing and/or social media experience driving exceptional brand engagement a plus

  • Search Engine/Experience Optimization skills and Mobile-Friendly awareness a plus

  • Knowledgeable about current best practices for content strategy, branding, consumer trends.
