What can people expect in your Mighty classes?

Equal parts philosopher and anatomy and physiology enthusiast, I love to educate about the physical and energetic body, and teach flows that support an authentic experience of that. You can expect an invitation to practice dynamic presence and compassionate self-observation, while being guided with alignment awareness, as well as freedom and encouragement to explore the nuances of your unique body.

About Ilana:

After dabbling in yoga for many years, a stressful work environment in New York City drove Ilana to discover the potent power of a regular yoga practice in 2007, inspiring her to uproot and move to Ithaca where she began her teaching journey in 2010. Ilana studied at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA, is a 200-hour E-Registered Yoga Teacher and finds teaching to be an incredibly rewarding and heart-opening experience. She sees the mat as a place of safety and freedom where you can release judgments and practice being your most empowered, loving and awesome self.  Expanding on her passion for healing and the body she completed 1000 hours of training at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in 2013, became a licensed massage therapist and has completed further training in Thai Yoga Massage and Biodynamic Craniosacral work.

We asked Ilana:

Why do you practice yoga?

When I first started practicing I just wanted to be guided out of my head and into anything else. When I experienced how it could feel to really be in my body I felt like an infinite world of discovery had opened up to me. Today, a lot of the practice is still about getting out of my head, taking pleasure in movement and becoming sensitive to what my body wants and needs. On some special days it becomes about connecting to something much, much bigger.

What fuels you?

Nature, connection, peanut butter and Burning Man.
