What can people expect in your Mighty classes?
My goal is to always meet the student where they are, and over the years I have gained the ability to quickly read a room with regards to the options I should make available. The goal is to make the class a positive experience for all participants. That being said, in general I offer I high energy flow that incorporates challenging transitions, balances and core work. The reward for the effort is ending class with generous stretches and twists leading into a guided peaceful savasana.
Jackie received her RYT-200 in 2011 at Wilmington Yoga Center under the love and guidance of Kunga Yoga founder Kristin Cooper. After over 1,000 teaching hours she traveled to Rishikesh, India, to study Advanced Hatha Yoga. There she lived at the Ashram of Shiva Yoga Peeth and studied under Swami Sudhir, Hatha and Ashtanga Master Instructor Acharya Narendu, and Spiritual Guru Sri Santana. In that time she was gifted the wisdom of Swami Ji on how to reach enlightenment. Jackie is certified at the highest Yoga Alliance designation, E-RYT 500, and trains instructors at the RYT 200 and 500 level through kRtajJatA Yoga School (KYS). KYS has offered trainings and workshops in North and Central America, Europe and Asia, & promotes the belief that yoga is a path to true harmony and must be available to all people in a safe and loving environment. Jackie is also a Reiki Master.
We asked Jackie:
Why do you practice yoga? The Yoga Sutras describe yoga as an eightfold path designed to unite the Self with the Ultimate Self through enlightenment in one life. At the end of the life, we take nothing with us--why not make this one’s highest goal?
What fuels you? The love of my family, the support of friends and my spiritual community.
Jackie’s favorite piece of wisdom:
” Yoga is the journey of the Self, through the Self, to the Self.” -- The Bhagavad Gita
