March Teacher of the Month (Hanover)
Meet Wendy!
Tell us about a time you experienced personal growth.
Years ago as a busy working single parent, I was desperate to make time for myself. I realized this time wasn't going to magically appear. I needed to commit to the time and luckily I found Yoga at a local studio. In order to get to classes I had to ask for and accept help. I found my village of other mommas were happy to lend a hand with rides for the kids so I could take a class after work. The kids are older now and I am more free to dedicate to the studio. And still anytime I hesitate, my village encourages me. It's as simple as a group chat where inevitably if one person asks "who's going today?", there's energy and gratitude for us to gather together and flow.
What is your favorite yoga pose?
This is hard to narrow down. I’d say Goddess when I need a sense of strength and forward fold to release.
What is something others may not know about you?
Yoga was what helped me rebuild the strength and mobility post total knee replacement to return to hiking and complete the Tour De Mont Blanc. Chair pose for the win! Trust me it makes all the difference on the downhills.
