Gong Meditation (Ithaca)

Experience the healing power of sound

The Winter Solstice marks the darkest day of the year and a turning point where the light starts to return. Join us for this special 90-minute experience where you'll practice a deep meditation before opening your mind, body and spirit to the healing vibrations of the gongs and other vibrational instruments. You'll be invited to rest deeply, recalibrate, and welcome the slow return of brightness and clarity.

During a gong meditation, participants are immersed in a symphony of resonant tones and vibrations, which can help induce a state of profound relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote mental clarity. The complex and harmonious soundscapes created by the gongs are believed to facilitate a natural healing process, aiding in the release of physical and emotional tension, while also encouraging a heightened sense of introspection and mindfulness. Gong meditations can be particularly beneficial for individuals seeking an alternative form of meditation that engages multiple senses and offers a path to inner peace and holistic well-being.

Participants can expect to be seated and lying down during the event according to each person’s comfort level. Wear clothes that allow the body to rest comfortably.

LivAvtar Kaur is a Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher, mantra recording artist and Gong Master based in Ithaca. Over the last decade she has helped many to relax, recharge and heal with her Gong and Sacred Sound meditations, mantra chanting events and yoga and meditation classes.
