I came to appreciate the practice of Yoga slowly. I went to classes off and on until I began to deeply feel the benefits of breath, movement and the curiosity that comes with mindfulness: the “ah-ha” moment after Shavasana when you feel yourself in balance. My yoga grew, and has become an integral part of how I balance my life, health, work and family. Thirty five years as a Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist also informed my desire for a deeper understanding of our thoughts, spiritual sense of self and connection to community- as well as gratitude for our physical body. Mindfulness, Yoga and the language of self compassion work so beautifully together and inspired me to take time to return to my mat again and again. If you need solace, time, direction of purpose or community, a mindful practice can be a beautiful space to find what you need. Yoga has always provided me with clarity and calm and from that quiet space has come answers I didn’t always know I needed.
I am a proud mother of three adults, a son-in-law and a new grandson who all live, work and study in New York City. We visit each other as often as we can. My husband and I moved from Vermont to lovely New Hampshire and one of my first priorities was finding “my yoga studio”. “Mighty” offered safety, growth of practice and where I received my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. I love to cook, read, ski, needle point, practice archery, hike with my giant German Shepherd.
